Mayumi Kiefer Selected As Finalist of 2012 Excellence in Visual Art at the AICUOThe Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Ohio has announced its finalists for its 2012 Excellence in Visual Art Award. Resident Artist, Mayumi Kiefer was selected as one of the six finalists for her work in ceramics.
Finalists are chosen from a field of art students who are nominated by their schools for their contribution to the arts and for their outstanding artistic accomplishments. Each school may nominate two, and with over 30 member colleges, selection as a finalist is a true honor. Mayumi has also been nominated for the People's Choice Award, and YOU can make your voice known. Just go to http://www.aicuoartaward.com/ and vote for Mayumi or your favorite artist. Voting will being in March. Criteria for acceptance into (and continuation in) the program are: 1. Currently enrolled in the 8th - 11th grades at any Ohio school. 2. Remit completed application before the March 16th deadline. 3. Be able to attend one of the orientation meetings with a parent, guardian or adult sponsor. 4. Attend relevant meetings, training sessions, project presentations and relevant group activities. (Exemptions can be granted fro valid reasons.) 5. During the upcoming school year, be able to commit to 2 Saturdays a month for group interaction and to submitting assignments on time. |
